Bird Descriptions on PigeonIQ

Every bird can have up to three kinds of descriptions. Each serves a different purpose and has different edit rules.

1. AI Descriptions

Generated automatically · Read-only

Two smart summaries generated by AI from the best available information across the bird's entire database record — including race results, lineage, achievements, and community submissions.

  • AI Summary (Long): Appears on the bird's main profile page. A prose paragraph covering key facts.
  • Short Description: A concise version used in pedigree ancestor boxes where space is limited.

Can I edit them? No. They are automatically regenerated when new data arrives. To influence them, contribute more data via pedigree imports.

2. Community Record

Merged from community imports · Read-only

The raw data merged from every pedigree imported by PigeonIQ users. Descriptions, race results, and background information from different sources are combined so the community record grows richer over time.

Can I edit it? No. It is read-only and builds automatically from community imports. If you see incorrect data, import a corrected pedigree.

3. Your Pedigree Notes

Personal · Editable · Private to your loft

Your personal notes about a bird's lineage, breeding background, and heritage. These stay in your loft and are never merged into the shared community database.

Can I edit them? Yes. Add or edit them from the bird's profile page or the Edit Bird Details form. They are private to your loft and will not be overwritten by imports.
